Steve Martin - Is a super successful comedian (and now-a-days banjo player); the appearance is that he's always been successful. But after reading Born Standing Up: A Comic's Life, I know that's not the case. He persevered through numerous failures and low points. Though his childhood and teenage work at Disneyland where crucial in forming who he became, I especially liked the book's second half; about his adult life in Comedy. He struggled for years before all the material and talents in his past came together in a synergy; a synergy that made Steve Martin one of the most famous comedians on the planet. His is a story of perseverance.
I see Martin Short has a new book out too; I Must Say: My Life As a Humble Comedy Legend. It's reviews are at the same high level as Steve's book. I need to add it to my reading list. The good thing about books by comedians; you're probably going to get a few laughs along the way.
